Andhra Pradesh aims to double cargo handling capacity of four ‘Other Than Major Ports’
The Andhra Pradesh government announced plans to increase cargo handling capacity at four designated Other Than Major Ports—Ramayapatnam, Mulapeta, Machilipatnam and Kakinada—to double current levels. The initiative aims to have all four ports fully operational by the close of 2027, supporting regional trade growth and infrastructure development. The expansion is expected to attract private investment, improve logistics efficiency, and alleviate pressure on larger nearby ports.
