Model of Danish ship that landed at Tharangambadi in 1620 donated to Maritime Museum
An intricately crafted model of the Danish vessel ‘Elephant’, which arrived at the Tamil Nadu port of Tharangambadi in 1620, has been donated to the Maritime Museum. The ship belonged to a fleet comprising two warships and three merchant ships that sailed to forge trade connections with South Asia during the early Danish colonial period.
