Withdraw cut in crude palm oil import duty, Rythu Sangham urges Centre
The Rythu Sangham, representing Andhra Pradesh growers, has asked the Indian government to reverse a recent reduction in the import duty on crude palm oil, which was lowered from 16.5% to 11%. The group says the cut will disadvantage producers of oil palm, groundnut and sesame, and it is seeking a floor price of ₹25,000 per tonne for oil‑palm bunches.
