Gutkha, soyabean oil worth ₹4.78 crore seized in Maharashtra FDA operations
India’s food and drug authority carried out raids in Maharashtra, seizing illegal gutkha, pan masala, scented tobacco and soyabean oil. In the first phase, two trucks and products worth about ₹1.26 crore were confiscated after earlier interceptions in Palghar and Thane districts. Overall, the operations recovered goods valued at roughly ₹4.78 crore, part of a broader effort to curb prohibited tobacco items.
