Cabinet approves ₹1.86 lakh crore Green Energy Corridor to evacuate 135GW renewable energy
India’s cabinet has sanctioned a Green Energy Corridor project worth about 1.86 lakh crore rupees. The scheme aims to upgrade the intra‑state transmission network, allowing the transfer of up to 135 GW of renewable power from generation sites to distribution grids across states and union territories. The investment is intended to boost clean‑energy integration, grid reliability and support India's climate goals.
