Long‑time inhabitants of Secunderabad’s cantonment area, which sits on defence land, are pressing authorities for freehold ownership of their homes. The local group Cantonment Vikas Manch has presented a four‑point plan aimed at reorganising civilian zones within Indian cantonments. Supporters say the plan would grant long‑standing residents legal title.
