Calcutta HC dismisses ISF's plea challenging EC's reassignment of 'envelope' poll symbol to another party
The Calcutta High Court rejected a petition filed by the Indian Secular Front (ISF) that sought to stop the Election Commission from transferring the party’s ‘envelope’ election symbol to the Democratic Trinamool Congress (DTC). The ISF, which used the symbol in the 2024 Lok Sabha and upcoming 2026 state elections, had objected to the reassignment, but the court ruled against it.
