Butcher arrested in Vijayawada canal murder case; a tattoo helped police identify the victim
Police in Vijayawada have arrested 45‑year‑old butcher Shafi for the murder of a woman identified as Kalyani, also known as Durga. Investigators say the killing followed a financial dispute, after which Shafi and an accomplice disposed of the body in the VTPS cooling canal. A distinctive tattoo on the victim enabled identification, and the assisting helper remains in custody.
