The Andhra Pradesh government is executing railway projects worth ₹13,724 crore in Guntur district, featuring eight new road‑over‑bridges. The recently inaugurated Gaddipadu bridge will carry the Inner Ring Road above a level crossing used by 78 trains each day. The largest component is a ₹4,306 crore upgrade that will double the Guntur‑Guntakal line. The works, which began this month, also include seven over‑passes to ease traffic congestion.
