Maharashtra Government unveils Fodder Development Policy to tackle shortage
Maharashtra's state government has introduced a new Fodder Development Policy aimed at addressing feed shortages for livestock. The plan will compile a catalogue of suitable grasses, fodder‑producing trees, enhanced fodder varieties, and both traditional and alternative fodder sources, and will launch related schemes to promote cultivation and improve supply chains. It offers incentives for farmers to adopt species and supports state's dairy and animal‑husbandry sectors.
