Thousands of sugarcane farmers from Karnataka, Maharashtra and Telangana marched to Kittur Chennamma Circle in Hubballi, demanding higher prices and a revised minimum selling price. Union minister Pralhad Joshi’s appeal and support from local MLAs led the protesters to agree to talks in Delhi, ending the demonstration and moving toward a resolution of the long‑standing price dispute.
