Influenza, COVID-19 may fuel Parkinson’s processes, finds CCMB
Researchers at the Central Council for Biological and Medical (CCMB) in India have found that influenza and COVID-19 infections can accelerate the development of Parkinson’s disease. The study, published in a peer-reviewed journal, shows that the viruses trigger inflammatory responses that may damage brain cells involved in movement control. These findings suggest a link between viral infections and the onset of Parkinson’s symptoms.
