Top Maharashtra poll official seeks more powers for EROs to handle voter discrepancies
A senior official of Maharashtra's election administration has asked the Election Commission of India for expanded authority for Electoral Registration Officers to resolve voter record mismatches. The request, attributed to S. Chockalingam, was submitted in a letter dated September 24, seeking powers to correct discrepancies and improve the accuracy of the electoral roll across the state and in future elections.
