Nine per cent of students report suicidal thoughts, finds Supreme Court-appointed panel’s survey
India’s Supreme Court‑appointed National Task Force released a nationwide survey showing that 15 percent of students felt overwhelmed or distressed and 9 percent experienced suicidal thoughts within the last six months. The survey, part of a wider mental‑health review, was ordered by the Supreme Court and will inform policy recommendations. The findings will be included in the panel’s final report, scheduled for release on October 31.
