Cancer, kidney, AIDS drugs sold at up to 70 times procurement cost: Karnataka Health Minister
Karnataka’s health minister reported that prices for certain cancer, kidney and AIDS medicines are being charged at up to seventy times the procurement cost. He called for a nationwide audit that would compare the listed maximum retail price, the price paid by manufacturers or importers, the net cost to hospitals, and the final amount charged to patients for high‑value drugs, devices and consumables.
