Two women from tea plantations ordained as CSI priests in Idukki
In Munnar’s CSI Christ Church, two women from local tea estates, Indira Iyyappan, 49, and Vijaya Karuppuswamy, 48, were officially ordained as priests on September 2. The ceremony marked a milestone for the Church of South India, expanding its clergy to include women from rural communities. Both women, who have worked on tea plantations, will now serve in pastoral roles.
