Karnataka seeks clearances for irrigation projects, including Mekedatu
Karnataka's state government has formally sought approvals from central authorities for a series of irrigation schemes, with the Mekedatu reservoir project highlighted as a priority. In addition, the cabinet conveyed provisional endorsement for two inter‑basin water‑link initiatives—the Godavari‑Cauvery and Bedti‑Varada connections—intended to boost water availability for farming, drinking and industrial use throughout the state and its regions.
