Centre to send teams to assess drought in Karnataka, Maharashtra: Shivraj Singh Chouhan
India’s central government will dispatch assessment teams to Karnataka on October 3 and to Maharashtra to evaluate severe drought conditions, announced Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He said he has discussed the issue with Maharashtra’s chief minister, who shares concerns, and that he and his officials will personally travel to the affected states to oversee relief efforts.
