Centre should intervene when patented medicines are sold at exorbitant rate: Kerala HC
India’s Kerala High Court ruled that the central government may step in when patented drugs are priced excessively, allowing it to invoke the patent to produce and distribute the medicines on a non‑commercial basis for the public, especially low‑income patients. The court said this power is consistent with existing patent and public health statutes.
