Chennai Corporation to set up Amma Canteen at Omandurar hospital
Chennai's municipal corporation has applied for state permission to open an Amma Canteen inside Omandurar Government Hospital. The proposed facility aims to provide low‑cost meals to patients, visitors and staff, following the model of subsidised canteens run elsewhere in the city. Officials say the canteen will help improve nutrition and reduce expenses for hospital users.
