We need to be cautious while implementing AI tools in libraries, says former V-C
Former Davangere University vice‑chancellor B.D. Kumbar warned that AI tools must be introduced in libraries cautiously. He pointed to Karnataka University’s library, where staff fell from about 35 librarians to just two. Kumbar said any AI rollout should include training for the remaining staff and assess long‑term effects on library services and overall access for patrons.
