Keralam researchers discover a new species of genus Begonia in Western Ghats
Botanical researchers from Kerala have identified a previously unknown Begonia species in the Western Ghats. The plant has been formally named Begonia rajvikramanii in honor of R. Raj Vikraman, who previously led the Garden Management Division at the Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute. The discovery adds to the region’s rich floral diversity.
