Swell waves reach west coast; red alert continues along Keralam coast
The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority reported that on September 26, swell waves with periods of 20‑24 seconds and heights up to 1.5 metres struck sections of Kanyakumari. Earlier, precursor swells had already arrived along the Kerala coastline, prompting the agency to maintain a red alert for the region's coastal areas. The red alert remains in force as authorities monitor sea conditions.
