Karnataka plans district-level action to eliminate preventable maternal deaths
The Karnataka government will set up a state-level unit, led by a designated officer, to curb preventable maternal deaths. District-level actions will be coordinated to improve monitoring, data tracking and timely care. Health minister K. Shivanandappa Khader said the initiative aims to eliminate maternal fatalities across the state. The plan includes training health workers, strengthening emergency response and enhancing reporting mechanisms.
