Assam-made Chinese pu’er tea cakes auctioned at ₹12,000 a kg
At the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre, five kilograms of pu’er tea cakes produced in Assam were sold for 12,000 rupees per kilogram. The transaction represents the first auction of Chinese‑style pu’er in the state and could open a market for other regional blends, including the Singpho community’s traditional phalap variety, encouraging local growers to diversify their offerings.
