Woman dies after childbirth in cut-off tribal village in Andhra’s ASR district; floods blocked road to health centre
A woman named Lavanya died shortly after giving birth in the tribal settlement of Gangavaram, G.K. Veedhi mandal, Andhra Pradesh’s Alluri Sitharama Raju district. Heavy rains caused streams to burst and wash away a bridge, cutting the only 6‑kilometre route to the Darakonda health centre. The blockage prevented her from receiving emergency care, leading to her death.
