India–UK CETA comes into force; Telangana well poised to reap benefits
India and the United Kingdom’s Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement took effect on July 15, opening new trade opportunities. The southern state of Telangana is expected to gain from the pact, particularly in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, life‑sciences, electronics, precision engineering, industrial machinery, and both basic and specialty chemicals, positioning it to attract investment and expand exports.
