Idukki to resume dismantling of illegal fences blocking elephant corridors
District Collector Dineshan Cheruvatt has ordered the removal of illegal fences that impede elephant migration in Idukki in the region. While farmer groups and church leaders have protested, demanding the order be withdrawn, the state chief minister assured that legitimate farmers will not be affected and only fences built on encroached land will be taken down.
