Hyderabad’s police have transformed over the past fifty years, shifting from addressing communal clashes and left‑wing insurgency to confronting terrorism, cyber offences and drug trafficking. The original single commissionerate has expanded into four separate commissionerates, supported by specialised squads, modern technology, intelligence networks and a greater emphasis on community‑oriented policing.
