CPI stands firm on Deputy Leader of the Opposition demand in Keralam
India's Communist Party of India (CPI) reaffirmed its demand for appointing a Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Kerala's legislature. State secretary Binoy Viswam said the party has concluded an initial round of talks with the CPI(M) and will continue negotiations. He also accused the Election Commission of compromising democratic rights through the SIR mechanism.
