Centre extends AFSPA in 'disturbed areas' of Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh for another six months
India's central government has issued a new notification extending the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act in the designated 'disturbed' regions of Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh for an additional six months. The extension takes effect on October 1 and will remain in force unless the government decides to revoke it earlier, according to the official notice.
