Ganeshotsav: Maharashtra FDA seizes 6.34 lakh kg of suspected adulterated food
During the Ganeshotsav food safety campaign, Maharashtra’s Food and Drug Administration inspected 3,068 outlets across the state between September 1 and 23. Officials confiscated approximately 634,000 kg of food they suspect is adulterated, with the seized inventory valued at about ₹9.76 crore. The statewide drive aims to protect consumers and urged vendors to comply, as part of heightened inspections during the festival season.
