Nagavali swells, 10,000 acres of crops lost as floods hit north Andhra districts
Heavy rains caused the Nagavali River to rise sharply, flooding parts of northern Andhra Pradesh. Authorities estimate about 60,000 cubic feet per second will flow through the river on Friday, submerging roughly 10,000 acres of farmland. Roads in the tribal region of Parvathipuram Manyam were blocked, and 158 pregnant women were transferred to nearby hospitals for care.
