According to a report, 111 sitting members of parliament and state assemblies changed their party affiliation after being elected. The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party, Trinamool Congress and Indian National Congress together accounted for 58% of the switches. The Naga People’s Front attracted the most legislators, 32, followed by the BJP with 29 and the Nationalist Citizens Party of India with 20.
