Collector calls for promotion of millets to boost health, farmers’ income
District collector Rajakumari Ganiya urged greater promotion of millets, describing them as traditional, nutrient-dense crops that can improve public health and increase farmers' earnings. Speaking at a district-level event, she highlighted rising consumer awareness of nutrition and called for policies and outreach to boost millet consumption across the region. She also suggested integrating millets into school meals and local markets to broaden access.
