Notorious red sanders smuggler shot, nabbed in Kadapa operation
Police in Kadapa arrested Simpathi Jakeer, a red‑sanders smuggler linked to 99 cases, after a confrontation during a raid. Jakeer resisted surrender, attempted to stab officers, and was shot by a sub‑inspector, sustaining a leg injury. A constable also received a stab wound in the struggle. Authorities say the operation curbed further illegal timber trafficking.
