Over the past fifty years Hyderabad has evolved from a compact city into a sprawling, multi‑centred metropolis. Rising employment opportunities, inward migration, higher incomes and large infrastructure projects have pushed growth beyond the historic core, spawning new residential and commercial districts in the western, southern and northern outskirts.
