HEADS to bridge India’s mental healthcare gap with AI
India’s National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, together with IIT Kharagpur and the Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health in Tezpur, will launch the HEADS platform on September 24. The system, named Human‑in‑the‑loop Evaluation of Assisted Depression Screening, aims to use artificial intelligence to improve early detection and treatment of depression, addressing the country’s mental‑health service shortfall.
