The dedicated band of district correspondents

Over fifty years, district correspondents for The Hindu documented Andhra Pradesh’s transformation, moving reporting beyond state capitals into villages, conflict zones and remote areas. Starting with trunk‑line phone submissions and later adopting laptops and digital tools, they conveyed rural concerns, political changes, social movements and crises. Their work established a trusted grassroots network, becoming a cornerstone of the paper’s credibility.
