Centre asks Andhra Pradesh to guard Visakhapatnam Steel Plant free of cost before CISF exit on November 17
The central government has requested the Andhra Pradesh state to provide free security for the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant before the Central Industrial Security Force leaves on Nov. 17. Steel Secretary Sandeep Poundrik wrote to Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad asking for APSPF staff to take over. The plant has been paying roughly ₹150‑200 crore annually for CISF protection, which is being withdrawn over unpaid dues.
