Five crore Indian children still lack access to sanitation service in their schools, says UN report
According to a United Nations assessment, about 50 million children in India still do not have adequate sanitation facilities at their schools. Despite this shortfall, the report notes that India is one of 28 nations out of 62 expected to reach universal basic drinking‑water provision in schools by 2030, indicating progress in water access while sanitation remains a challenge.
