Three-language policy case: Centre given more time to mull SC proposal to exempt current Class 6
The Supreme Court has asked the central government to consider a petition seeking exemption for students currently in Class 6 from the three‑language policy. Chief Justice D.Y. Kant noted the government may use the additional time to devise incentives encouraging children to learn a third language. The Centre has been granted an extended period to review the proposal.
