UCC bulldozer is to permanently polarise society: Congress
Congress warned that the proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC) could act as a permanent divisive force in India. The comment came after former Bombay High Court judge Justice R.C. Chavan quit a Maharashtra government panel tasked with drafting the UCC, objecting to the panel’s plan to limit public input to a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’ response.
