Comprehensive OSH framework for unorganised labourers still in the works
India’s health ministry is still drafting a comprehensive occupational safety and health (OSH) framework aimed at protecting workers in the unorganised sector for the sector. Officials acknowledge that several recommendations from recent stakeholder consultations have not yet been formalised, leaving many proposals on paper. The draft remains under review, with implementation timelines yet to be confirmed.
