Students block Anantapur-Tirupati highway at Burakayalakota over APSRTC buses skipping stops
Approximately one hundred college commuters in Burakayalakota halted traffic on the Anantapur‑Tirupati highway, protesting that APSRTC buses regularly bypass their stop during peak periods. The students, who travel to institutions in Madanapalle, Punganur and B. Kothakota, said the missed service forces them to spend between ₹50 and ₹80 daily on auto‑rickshaws. They called for the stop's reinstatement, and the protest lasted about two hours.
