Aadhaar card not valid document to determine age: Supreme Court
India’s Supreme Court ruled that an Aadhaar card cannot be used to establish a person’s age. A two‑judge bench, comprising Justices Sanjay Karol and Ujjal Bhuyan, directed that the date of birth recorded on a school leaving certificate must be used to determine age in legal matters involving deceased individuals. The ruling came while hearing a petition concerning the age verification of a deceased person.
