With shortage in hydel and wind energy, KPCL to ramp up thermal power from January
Karnataka Power Corporation Limited, citing deficits in hydroelectric and wind generation, plans to boost its thermal output starting in January. Managing director Rajendra Cholan met with Ministry of Coal officials in New Delhi to negotiate the coal supplies required for the increased thermal production. The move aims to offset the shortfall in regional renewable power overall.
