IIT Bombay faculty member booked for caste abuse, suicide abetment
Police have arrested a professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay after a student, second‑year BTech Energy Science scholar Sahil Wakode, was discovered dead in his hostel on September 18. Investigators allege the faculty member subjected the student to caste‑based harassment and played a role in his suicide, leading to charges of caste abuse and abetment of suicide.
