Congress questions ₹43 lakh-crore GDP revision, asks Centre to explain methodology
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has demanded an explanation from the central government regarding a recent revision that reduces India's GDP by about ₹43 lakh crore. The party noted that the estimates for each fiscal year from 2022‑23 onward have been significantly lowered and asked for details on the methodology used for the recalculation. Congress also wants to know the data sources and assumptions used.
