Kolkata-based GRSE launches indigenous ocean research vessel 'Sagar Manthan'
Kolkata‑based GRSE has announced the launch of its first indigenous ocean research vessel, Sagar Manthan, costing ₹840 crore. The ship will be built at the company’s shipyard in Kolkata and is slated for completion and commissioning by early 2028, according to a senior government official. The vessel will support India’s maritime research and exploration efforts.
